Steak with Sherry-Ginger-Garlic Sauce
A nice way to have steak.
- 1/4 tsp dried ginger root or 3/4 tsp freshly grated
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 TBS sherry
- 3/4 TBS lite soy sauce
- 1 TBS honey
- 1 1/4 cup chicken stock
- 1 TBS cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup chicken stock
- 2 sirloin steaks
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1/2 inch strips
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1/2 inch strips
- 1 TBS peanut oil
- 1 small saucepan
- 1 skillet
In a small saucepan combine ingredients, except cornstarch mixture, and bring to boil. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Stir-fry bell peppers 5 minutes in skillet in oil on high heat.
Remove and reserve.
Either grill or pan-fry the steaks until they are done to your liking.
Heat up sauce, add cornstarch mixture, and stir until thickened, a minute or so.
Pour over steak and peppers. Serve immediately.
Rice goes well with this dinner.
